Quick question regarding rear pdc that I'm just about to install ( I will do a write up when finished).
I've removed the rear bumper, looking at the space between the carrier and the bumper itself there isnt enough depth for the sensor, how did they fit PDC to the 8's from the factory? Did they have a different carrier? maybe one with cut outs?
Would it be safe for me to drill through the carrier so that each sensor has enough depth?
Cheers
Wayne.
Questions about fitting PDC

The BMW mounting manual says to bore up the small existing holes in the carrier.

Thanks.

Wayne: Looking forward to the writeup, I want to do the same.
It would be handy to have PDC on the front as well, is there any mounting diagram for the front?

Brilliant - Those instructions are very useful. Thanks lots.
Any ideas how to remove the rear bumper ?
Not done this before and not sure where to start. -
Wayne, are you using a BMW PDC set, or a 3rd Party one ?
I've installed a 3rd Party one before and the only issue I faced was ensuring the sensors point out 100% horizontal, otherwise you will screw up the readings the sensors give out.

I'm using one that I bought of eBay, 4 sensors with a buzzer, there are kits with all sorts of displays and LED's but I didnt want any of that.
I've fitted it all today, wired it up to a temp power supply to test and it seems to work very well. I will do a write up in a bit -
I look forward to reading your install review. I would like to install a PDC system in my car. With no silly visuals, too.
A front system would be nice as well.
Cheers
