Will this flashlight fit in my 1993 840 ci ?
Bmw OEM Glovebox Flashlight Rechargable 3 5 7 Series

Yes it will.
Don´t buy a used one. The rechargeable batteries will likely be dead and cannot be replaced (easily).
Those flashlights can be purchased new through BMW but they are way overpriced.
Cheers

Flashlight
Thanks for the tip. A little bit overpriced i agree.
Aprox 40 euro in Norway. -
I don´t think that you should buy them in Norge either
For this amount of money you will get a very fine Maglite
Plenty of new ones on Ebay.de for 16.49 EUR ea. Item 380195188328
Letter to Norway can´t cost that much.Cheers

If the batteries do need replacing, it's not hard and the batteries are available:

Cheers Timm. I had your valuable tips bookmarked and was looking for that very article after. Thanks so much for that great compilation!

My pleasure....I've updated the article so show the direct link to the batteries from RS.

I tried to put in new batteries in my torch for my E31, but the damn thing broke into many pieces when I tried to pry it apart This was the 2nd time that this happened to me. The first time was a number of years ago for E32 750. I cracked the torch case and found the battery had leaked acid all over the innards... Foiled twice by BMW! I had to cough up the money and buy a new one (twice)

I have seen some black flashlights. Do they also fit our car?
-
No - I have a black one, it don´t fit in a 8-series glove box.
My black torch is out from my 7-series Diesel. The pins are on a "wrong" position.
Why the factory produces different torches? Perhaps they try to fill out the spare part catalogMax
