Hi guys,
just curious why the metal plate in my engine bay mentions Alpinweiss? Google translate would not translate the word "Fueller" for me...
Thanks!

Zet is ze Filler andernees ze callar
One of the peculiarities of our tongue is that we still use those double dotted vowels aka Umlauts. This label (you have fancy ideas of metal it seems) is one of the cases where the BMW printer seemingly was of non-German origin and did not have any of those. The correct word´d be "Füller". Try zat!
In essence: if you scrape off the eggyolk you´ll get down to the eggwhite

Can you get those stickers from the dealer?
Thanks Reinhard! I figured the answer would be as you describe... alpineweiss huh.. thanks for the colloquialisms...so now, my question is WHY the BMW printer was of non-German origin? :o)
Andre: I'm sure all BMW dealers have dozens of these stickers hanging around, among the Mini keyrings/ caps/ merchandise
I want that. On my car!
Now that I know my car is a...um... Halfling so to speak. I'm unsure how to feel. Were many individual colours originally white?
Is there any way I can purge the Alpinweiss technically, while retaining the yellow topcoat? Andre - maybe you know a guy in Poland could help...?
Colour of the filler is sometimes altered from bland grey(ish) to emphasize the top coat´s colour. For vibrant but darker colours BMW often changed the filler to black and for very bright colours white was used occasionally along with a double top coat (e.g. Giallo). Seemingly strange filler colours like arctic silver were used very rarely.
Hence yours is not directly from the Shire and also not "originally white" but the foundation laid to make it appear a bright yellow rather than viral snot stems from the undies.
Cheers
Reinhard
I know a guy who would make you do some white stains yourself if you would see his work
I would say you probably have a ringer.
Used the labels from the Alpine White car to legitamise your stolen car.
Not really.
Love the 'not really' Gerry!!
Must admit my first reaction was to briefly panic
Not really
Resprayed. Probably Cat C

Reinhard - does your keyboard not have an umlaut?!

Better a Cat C than a Mini. Or a Bongo.
Mind you better a Cat A, if that exists, than a Bongo

I bought the computer system to generate those labels directly off the Ringleding plant.
This is what it looks like:
Pure 7 Bit-ASCII that is

7 Bit ASCII makes me weak at the knees Reinhard - how did you know? Intoxicating stuff

You wouldn't want that b: The vehicle must scrapped and no parts or components can be sold other than for scrap. Usually fire.

Gixx, they always exaggerate these things to reduce their liability. Whereas actually one could be buying a very fine car indeed, (and cheap, to boot).
Lick o' paint, bit of filler, lick o paint and nobody is going to know its a Cat A, are they?
