I think I remember you as the chap who wanted to bring a car in yourself?

I know of a workshop that I believe is over on the North Shore,I think in Artarmon. I will look through some old emails and let you know when I find it. I know they are a non dealer BMW Specialist and have at least one 850 customer.

It's a pity you are not in Melbourne. I have sufficient knowlegde on thses cars after restoring mine to be able to do most repairs and maintenance with my eyes closed. If you need parts let me know. I have been dealing for most of my life and now have a good source of both genuine an non genuine at fairly discounted rates. I also have two wrecked cars that I bought for parts so dont go get ripped by the BMW Stealers.

I visit Sydney every three or four weeks and wouldnt mind catching up with you for a coffee, if you feel like.

We have a ''club of eights'' owners in Melbourne. Not enough members but we have a get together every now and then. We will do an outing when the sun returns so we will keep you posted. Pehaps you might have a qick drive down the highway, its only 8 hours!

Not sure if it helps, im an 8 enthusiast in sydney, dont have one, but ive seen one 8 at balgowlah automotive on sydney road. Not sure if its good or not but theres one 8 there so atleast theres a little experience

Your 840 '98 is beautiful. Do you know if the CSi kit was standart or an option this year '98 in Australia ?

it's an option. CSI stuff was only fitted to Csi's and as this is an 840 it is not a Csi.

AUSSIE CARS FROM 19 WERE ALL 840'S. (6 onwards had the Mtech mirrors, front bumper,rear diffuser nad steering wheel. Thre may also ahve been other Mtech stuff that Im not aware of but not the Csi stuuf

and rumour has it that there are only three CSI'S in Oz

I was introduced to Motorworks in Waterloo by the dealer who sold me my car last November.
Motorworks is a small operation and the dealer principal is Mark Kuok.
Mark isn't cheap but I have been very impressed by his work and advice.
Nothing that I've given him to date has phased him.
He knows and loves BMWs and personally owns a few interesting examples.

Elan sold his car to Richard Amadio just 2 days prior to going back to the UK.

Rumour is that he missed the cold, wet, rain, mist and generally sh*##y weather almost as much as the Pommie beer.

We havent heard from him since but I'll bet a thunderclap to a gooses f$rt the he misses what he left behind her and will return, within a year.

His car is in good hands so who knows, the new owner may just be a baby sitter!

just saw your post this morning. let me know when you are back. We should meet up and I will introduce you to the other Sydney owners.

Your old car is rather refreshed these days. Same owner, new wheels , new paint job and little driven.

There are a few nice 840's around for sale. Post 95 they are still bringing good dollars and there is an occasional great buy around depending on your needs.
