Silver-grey interior from 840Ci for sale (in good condition)

  • I have a silver grey interior for sale after I upgraded mine. Front + rear seats, door cards, leather dash trim. It is in good condition, as can be seen in the picture below. May be a good replacement for a damaged or excessively worn interior. I am willing to let this go quite cheap as it takes up a lot of storage space. I have a spare car I can use to deliver too, obviously UK only as it's very large and heavy!

  • Same colour interior from a 1998 model with sports front seats. Very little difference actually but the opportunity arose so I thought "may as well"

Memory function works for the extendible thigh support which I was quite surprised at 8). Another toy to play with!

  • Hi paul

  • Hi, everything worked fine when I took them out of the car. There is one problem now (due to my stupidity), one of the adjustment switches doesn't work as I removed it to get a part number for someone but accidentally opened the switch due to my incorrect approach to removing the weird connector. If you've ever removed the large direction adjustment switch from the seat you'll know what I mean - very confusing at first but once you know the trick it's actually easy!

So it will be very easy to remove the connector and swap in a new switch, but this one will be very difficult to repair as it's full of small springs etc that are now out of place. Not really a problem if you're looking to replace worn seats, as you can just swap in your old switch - it takes about 10 minutes. Failing that I should be able to source a new switch myself without too many problems.

Will try and get some pics of the bolsters tomorrow. We can talk price and arrangements then once you've had a chance to look at the pics. Where abouts in the country are you?

    Cheers
    Paul.

  • Steve is too far from me for a sale to be practical so they're still available.

Here are some close up pics of the front seats to show the condition:

  • I really have to shift these pretty soon, as they're currently taking up space at my folks' place and I don't fancy having to move them to my house (and taking up space there too  ). Open to any offers....

  • Yes it is but if you're in Africa it will probably be cheaper to buy a whole car than have these shipped, these seats are VERY heavy!

  • Hi Paul Silver Grey Interior

I here what youy are saying but every chance that I may have a container leaving Sheerness in the UK bound for Durban in South Africa in the next two weeks Can you indicate price and if the seat electrics are fine the drivers seat adjustment on my car is giving problems and the dealer here tells me the seat frame is a problem and the seat mechanisem has siezed and I need a new frame (meantime I think a cable is the problem) but very few competant dealers out here so replacement seats may be a good Idea
    Regards
    Joe Carolan

  • Hi Paul,
This is my first post as I bought a damaged silver 850 at the weekend with the view to fixing it up and keeping it (for as long as I keep it, if that makes sense, why do people aways ask if I'm keeping it?).
The seats in mine are looking pretty sad (the fronts anyway, the back's OK) so I'd be interested but only if very cheap.
I've just paid out for: N/S headlight, N/S wing, N/S door, N/S rear outer light cluster, roof trim, door trim, a pair of front driving/indicator lights and have a man waiting to remove a pound of flesh for repair of the rear quarter and repainting of wing, door, rear quarter and front and rear bumpers!
Despite an oil leak from the transmission to sort out I'm (almost) on budget still but hadn't figured how these things kind of beg to be perfect.
Anyway, let me know the damage and we'll see if we can sort something, if it works out then I'll happily donate mine for free to anyone that wants them.
    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • Hi Stuart,

Sounds like an interesting project you have there. I wouldn't fancy trying to fix up an 8 myself, the price of some of the parts is crazy . I guess if you're patient though and can avoid the dealer as much as possible the end result will be worth it.

First things first though, where abouts are you located? I've had some interest before but distance can be a problem as they're not really suitable for courier due to the weight. The seats are located in south-west Scotland at my parents' although I have a second car that is just big enough to carry the lot so can travel to deliver depending on how far. I'm not looking for big money so depending on how we're going to go about transporting them we can discuss it then.

e-mail me if you like paul.morg@yahoo.co.uk

    Cheers
    Paul.

  • Hi Paul,
That's typical, I picked the car up from Auchinleck, Scotland, and drove it home!
I'm located in Luton, only 30 miles from London so a fair way away from the seats I'm afraid.
Cheers anyway, if you end up stuck with them and realy need them gone let me know, maybe I can get TNT to collect them on the works account.
Interesting project for sure, fortunately I've a freind that's an independant BMW specialist in Luton (that used to have an 850 and still looks after a few of them) and being in the motor trade myself I have an inabilty to pay the going rate for anything!
    So far so good.
