And a Dinan...(Ebay.com)

  • Nice car, no doubt.

But I would have thought the Dinan kit and 515hp would make this car go faster than 170mph, the 354hp kit I have from Hartge claimes 174mph.
I'd expect a 515hp car to get close to 200mph.

However the 0-60 and 0-100 times are impressive.

IIRC, The Hartge 354 HP is at the wheels? The Dinan 515 is Brake HP (At the Flywheel)

No, the 354hp is at the "flywheel" (don't have one since it is an automatic.)
On the rear wheels I have a Dyno that shows 276HP SAE
Yet the papers from Hartge states a top speed of 280kph, which is 174mph with the 354 hp and a 3.45:1 final drive ratio (same as Alpina B12 5.0) kit.
I reached 260kph/163mph (GPS) on the German autobahn this summer, and I still had more to go, but worn shocks and bushings made the ride a bit to exiting, so I decided not to go faster.

My Hartge setup give me a theoretical top speed of just below 290kph/181mph at the 6000rpm rev limiter in 4th gear, though I wont be able to reach that.
But I have no doubt that I would be able to get to 170mph with a less exiting suspension setup, and a clean streatch of autobahn.

Just thought it was funny that a car with more than 160hp more than me would have a lower top speed than me.
