Well as some of you may know I have thought about making a front strut brace for some time. In fact I talked to Alex (Schnitz) about it at the November meet. Also as I have a full workshop at my disposal etc I thought I would have a go. The design is very similar to the strong strut one which comes highly recommended ( I will not be making any more other than mine). I have started the top plates for the strut (see pic's) and also the brace itself. The only really differance to the strong strut is I want to incorparate some adjustment. Just thought I would start a thread and show what I am doing
This is not a business opportunity more a keep me busy project.

my legal advisors tell me that unless I extort a copy of one of these from you, I would have no choice but to alert the relavent authorities of your efforts
Hat's off to you on your fabrication skills Lloyd (not Wayne)

Cheers Tony, once I have worked out the adjustabilty design the next question will be what to do in the centre. Do I machine a cut out to except a BMW badge and parallel grooves etc (just thinking out loud) 8)??
I will also be bending the brace to approx 7 degrees at both ends to get it up and over the engine etc. -
Do You have the dimensions, as I have the ability to replicate ???? Even if you were to sit on a copy machine I could duplicate...
Thank-You In Advance

Happy-Motoring...

DMP so far the bits I have made have been drawn in AutoCAD so in short yes. Once I have finalised and made this I will look at releasing the dwg's to the site then.

Right Lloyd. GGGRRR
That conversation was in strictest confidence on the proviso that you went into full production and I have a cut of the good will generated from the availability of such an outstanding product..
Why should I pay SS £250.00+ when I can support British ingenuity
Go on Lloyd, you know you want to.....

Lloyd,
The AutoCad file would more than suffice, my father is a retired Engineer, and would keep him busy as well, I can assure you I would never use your item for "monetary" gain, just "motoring" gain.. Thank you in advance...

But ,these Bars achieve bugger all,I've got one so I know but if that doesn't convince you then make me an offer & i'll pack it up & send it off

Steve I hear what you are saying I just thought why not. It may make little or no differance although it will be adjustable but that not why I am making it, I just like to keep my hand in so to speak and also to continue to enhance albeit bling bling.
Alex I did say I would not make any arm rest brackets but I have, so you never know -
Hey Lloyd ,I wasn't having "a go" at your fine workmanship
-
No worries Steve I did not even think that
I will post a picture of the workshop later if I get time. -
Nice looking work Lloyd. I bought a StrongStrut earlier this year - expensive piece of eye-candy as they call it but what the hell, looks pretty good
