Shock options ?

The question is a bit confusing. 'standard ci' os one thing, 'spsort shocks and springs' are another. The sport suspension offering is lower and stiffer than standard. Do you have EDC on your car? there are lots of options for springs, a very popular one here being H&R fronts and modified (cut 3/4") rears. Eibachs are a good four corner balance and many have gone this route with Bilsteins. Bilsteins can also be modified by them to custom rates. The sport setting seems to be the standard offering and they used to offer a comfort setting off the shelf, but it now seems an extra cost option. You also have OEM options with either the CSI or M-tech springs (different than oem sport iirc). I have a new set of M-techs that I'll be combining with newly replaced EDC shocks and struts, combined with much stiffer front and rear sway bars and Gerry's camber plates. I feel the car will handle so much better once I get the sway adjustment dialed in.

Thanks for your reply, currently I have standard ci sport shocks & springs which I assume are M-Tech, but not edc. I've spoken to a guy at Bilstein and looks likely that it'll be Bilstein sports with the M-Tech springs.
Thanks again for your reply

How much of a saving are these, as I am of to florida on Monday for 4 weeks
Are they a straight replacement for the standard non EDC ones on my 850i?
What are the benefits and what about springs? -
Using the Travelex tourist exchange rate, the shocks come to £405 for a set of four, say £50 delivery and let's add 20% import duty to be on the safe side and it still comes to £546. Most places in the UK sell them for around £1000, so that's one hell of a saving!! They will be a straight replacement, slightly firmer than the standard ones so obviously less roll, better handling etc. I believe you can keep your stock springs if you don't want a lower ride height or you can do the ever popular Bilstein/Eibach combo.

Seb as I will be in Florida delivery is $12 and as for import tax surely they are a gift to myself
Plus Ebay quotes £398.03
I have just emailed them about delivery to my holiday home or hotel -
Lol, yes, good point, I was working it out for those of us not fortunate enough to be on holiday in the States... :p
-
They just emailed me back and said if I ring them when I get there them hay presto
By the way Seb I dropped mine off to Gerrys painter this morning for a little TLC ready for Gaydon -
Cool as per my other thread I need a set of these Bilsteins so once they're on I'll hopefully be able to finally get my new wheels on in time for Gaydon

Are you changing the springs? If so who the best supplier / price for the combo set up?
Gerry if you are watching are these the shocks you mentioned this morning? -
Nah, I'll be sticking with the stock springs for now. I was toying with the idea of getting the Eibachs to lower the car but seeing as I found the chin catches on most speed bumps anyway I decided not to bother as I don't mind the standard ride height.

Thats what I thought but I like the idea of fresh springs too as mine are probably factor issue thus 18 years old. But I guess buying from the stealers is more expensive than changing them for the combo set-up
