Hello.
I´m working in a PC integration in my E31 and i need "how" to write text directly to MID via I-Bus.
I´m trying the regular E39 Ibus messages, but don´t work.
Anybody have experience with programing I-Bus in E31?
Regards.
I-Bus ID for write text on MID, please?

I should think that the message body is the same but the address byte is different for the E31. Try a range of addresses until you hit on the E31 MID!

The MID-Codes are different. Try this:
ID:
MID E39: 0xC0
MID E31: 0x01
Data:
0xE0 + Text + XOR
Code-Sequences:
02 05 01 C8 00 A0 6E Display off
02 04 01 C8 00 CF Display clear
02 05 01 C8 FE 00 30 Display off
02 08 01 E0 48 45 4C 4C 4F A9 Text "HELLO"
When you are using IBUS-Analyzer, you don't enter the checksum (green XOR-Byte). -
Ok!
Many many thanks!
Regards.

Work fine! Thanks!
Anybody have a "complete" list of IDs presents in E31 i-bus? or the method of generate an "alarm" like a hand brake in running...
In my E31 MID buttons only a message is present when press "CHECK" and "MEMO", it´s normal? The other buttons no generate i-bus message?
If possible view the "secrets test", real speed in the MID, for example, viewed ussing the "service menu" with i-bus comands?
Thanks in advance.

Xol, happy to see you here ...
PS:... keeping an eye on your posts here and "there".... ( if you need a beta-tester... just let me know... ( i know you are the alpha -tester .. ) -
Ok!
Thanks dudu!
I´m working in a mp3 player ussing MID and a modified "dimmer" button. Like my XE65 (ussing I-Drive) but the "i-drive" is a "dimmer" button with a optical encoder and a pusher.
The mcu board will control the PDC (with speed signal and realtime sensor viewed in MID), oil temp, automatic lights (ussing the four states light switcher),...and others... xD
Do you like this?
Regards.
PD: Tio, tenemos que quedar algun dia. xD -

Do you like this?
Yes.
Look here

(11 MByte)
In the second film look at the timestamp 2:31 (switch the monitor on and off)

(52 MByte)
Greetings -
Is there anywhere that tells you how to do this in simple step-by-step terms? I am afraid I have not understood the previous posts on programming via IBUS. Do you need some external equipment plugged into car?

Me too. I need help to understand the I-bus and later CAN-bus systems.
I am interested to fit the later type steering wheel. The physical aspect is fine but what about the multifunction aspect?
Please explain in English, English ( I have science/engineering degrees -not bragging though). -

Thank you, what are the commands in E31 to awake up ibus.
I am using above commands in bench testing and OBC is not displaying anything, no back light in OBC on.
List of IDs will also help.
In E39 same test of text is working.
Cheers,

The doc is in German language
Look to the capital 3.3
Outside the car you must send an initial code and then livechecks. If you don't send livechecks the MID goes off after one minute.
