Finally got a new steeringwheel

  • I finally got rid of the old "bus" wheel.

This E36 M3 Steeringwheel is now installed.

It was bought refurbished on Ebay and it features custom perforated leather, and thumb rest, also completed with M colored stitching.
This was made like this on my request.

The new leather is on top of the original leather thus making the steeringhwheel thicker and softer to hold.
It almost feels like my e46 M3's steeringwheel.

Much better Egil, I have a similar design wheel but without the thumb rests. You might want to get one of the chrome SRS badges, it sets the wheel off nicely:

I have the chrome part, but I do not want to install it as there are no other chrome parts in my car, or plans to put any in there.

If I had chrome rings in he instrument cluster, and chrome door handles, seat back handles, gearknob details, doorlock pins, pedals, footrest ect. it would have been a different story.
I want black, or gloss black inside my car, no chrome.

The wheel is the same diameter as the old bus wheel so no change there.
The extra coat of leather makes it a little thicker and softer than stock.
I had this wheel on an e36 some years ago and I thought it was too thin, but with the extra leather it is perfect.
It feels pretty much like the ones you get in a new BMW nowadays.
