Is it back on sale?
-
Yes, probably. The seller called me to say that the man from Edinburgh changed his mind before comming to see/collect. He had his deposit refunded.

Yes, probably.
Thanks for reply. Nice of them to refund the full deposit..(memories of an especially hideous time not that long ago when i paid a £1k deposit on a gorgeous 325i touring with 18k miles on it, changed my mind and lost every penny..)
Think you may go and see it as planned Arnie? (I'm 100% not interested myself i should add!)

Just spotted this one outside the dealers as I cycled past is it one of the last 850's?

That was brought up a while ago - inexplicably, a 1990 manufactured car with a real 2000 registration!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/cl…e/tw77dp/page/1?logcode=pIts always tempting to study pics of very late E31s extra closely for some reason, but i'll take this up with my shrink
On a very vaguely related note: I assume some E31s would have had a V registration in the UK, does anyone know if this is correct for sure? TIA -

... some E31s... V registration in the UK
I checked what is on file and for the last 100 VIN´s this is it:
VIN Date of 1st registration Plate CC67309 01.10.1999 V CC67342 01.09.1999 V CC67409 ?? V CC67417 07.01.2000 V CC67433 ?? V CC67437 12.01.2000 Private CC67439 05.08.2005 Private CC67444 05.10.1999 V CC67445 24.03.2000 Private CC67461 30.09.1999 V CC67482 18.08.1999 V CC67484 05.11.1999 Private The last 100 VIN´s saw 6 cars go to OZ of which 3 are on file. In addition we currently have 28 cars with UK and Irish number plates archived within that VIN range.
The above list is a dozen out of the 28 = 43% - so there will probably be around 25 cars with a V-registration in total. Not sure what to make of the 2000´s and 2005 - impossible over here for "EU" emissions regulations.Cheers

Crikey! The sellers seem to know what they are selling..... -
That actuator sold already, was it one of us maybe?
I thought they cost £6k new, i read somewhere.. can that really be true? Seller of this one reckoned he bought a couple as spares?! -
Good as a spare, maybe truthfully described and easy to recondition.
Worth the money? If you need one it sure is - if you have a spare one you´ll probably never need it though (old rule).Cheers

It's in very good condition, though. Most of the used ones I've seen are rusted to bits. I have a spare unit, but I fear it's in worse condition than the one on my car.
If you have an 840Ci or 850Ci (not 850i or Csi), it's perhaps worth getting a spare brake ABS pump/hydro unit as these are currently plentiful from e39 which are being broken for spares. In these cars they are mounted high-up in the engine bay and so are generally in great condition compared to what you'll find in an e31. They go for about GBP £25. More likely to need one of these than an AHK unit. You need to find the 1996 -1999 version. The later, more integrated, version looks completely different, so you will easily know. (Note last digit of part number is incorrect in online parts cat. p/n ends in 11, not 10) -

Guess who , mine is working but had an accident some time back managing to crack the plastic connector. fixed with glue but still a bit annoying.
Probably a temporary fix that will stay there forever , but now at least I have the spares. ( price in BMW Norway is 75kNok = £8.5k )
Anyway probably will never need it , but guess they are easy to sell again as spares if anyone else would need one , or anyone think like me

Terje
