This was why , as said fixed and spliced in a new ( used ) connector into the main harness and glued the AHK unit connector , still a bit annoying but have been working fine.

Reinhard: (or anyone else interested who may have a very late 840ci)
The reason I asked about any V-Reg 8ers:
As far as personalised number plates go, I've always been a Conscientious Objector (although I admit the right plate, at a price no higher than (say) £400 would tempt me). It would have to be a cracking good plate. I really feel spending a lot on a number plate lacks taste. But of course 'a lot' is a subjective term.
Despite those misgivings I sometimes pointlessly check these sites, and I've been surprised to find several quite good E31 related plates (though the prefix E31 is pretty much impossible to find).
The best I've found available recently, and its very good imvho esp at the price - I'd really love it if this info was useful to someone from this site but very unlikely given scarcity of V reg 8ers..
is V8 8ERS at the quite sensational price of £310 (a small transfer charge applies as well).
If I was permitted to fit it on my car... I wouldn't be writing this post and my wringing-hands principles could go to hell.
If any late V8er would like this plate, please PM me and I will pass on the details. I just checked again and its still there..unnoticed among the dross..

I'm guessing this is subscription-only area of the site..
Picture link of Terjes mishap from back in the day attached - those parts have never been available and the manufacturer (Bosch) Rexroth still honours some kind of NDA with BMW (or just can´t be f´d to talk to customers worth less than a million... )
Expensive spare part but wasn´t Norway the country of milk and honey
@Burn
I was under the impression that as far as a private plate is concerned anything goes? Would I have to stick to T1T5 then and not be able to move up to V8 8ers?
Reinhard
Incidentally: E31 is also available currently at £33,000 in case any serious high rollers frequent this page. I'd ogle such a plate of course but probably find it quite hard to respect the owner

LOL, all I know is that one cannot make the car look newer than it actually is..so, my R Reg car cannot take a V plate..
T1T5 is good
I´d have to move to Bavaria and likely convince the mayor of Landshut to move into his then new 25 sleeping room villa each with a voluptuous vestal virgin to get to that one:
Ah welll ...
Reinhard
I share your dream Reinhard, thats a very cool plate!
I spotted M185 TFU and thought that was apt (MI 8 Shut the f... Up)
Ok, my bad
I was out bid last year on KOE111G
DVLA valued it at £380, it sold for £1250 + hammer + £60 REGISTRATION + VAT.
this number had was not released in (G) reg, on my request DVLA put it in the auction. NEVER AGAIN.
KOE111G is to this day not on a UK car.
I am happy with my B50 UK plate. I bought it to take the age off the car
As I sold tellies and sound systems for a great deal of time I thought B1 LCD was good value...
Lets all now look and post the best E31 plates we can find....I now have a job for this week!
Heres an E31 plate

Have you ever been stopped by the bizzies?

That's well tidy
I had this on the old pina
Zitat von BBMatic;97407Incidentally: E31 is also available currently at £33,000
Seems to go up the more people press the button. Maybe one can click it to a Million Pounds
Cheers

No and no comments at MOT time touch wood
Lloyd - is your plate officially [B5 OUK]?
If so, you must lead a charmed life!
I just know that if I ever tried to get away with illegal spacing like that I'd be stopped in minutes - must be my dishonest face
I don't mind personalised plates but I don't like 'comedy' plates I think they detract from the car. Mine came with a personalised plate when I bought it, 850 LHO, when people ask me what the LHO stands for I fix them with a mildy wild stare and quietly say 'Lee Harvey Oswald'. Hence my car got the nick name Lee Harvey at work
Saying that, best plate I ever saw was on a motorbike, K1N ECK, I'd have that on my bike but not the car.
