New stoppers.

  • This is the overview Sports vs non-Sports from Fall 1997

EDC front struts are currently way cheaper than the non-EDC counterparts. (around 750 EUR ea. for EDC and just shy of 1K for non-EDC). Much cheaper than what makes sense in the past was an indicator for soon NLA. Don´t ask for rears though  Same applies for headlight buckets - available through dealership for just under 400 EUR ea. now (complete, RHD)

    Cheers

  • I haven't looked on any system, but was ordered 3 weeks ago and the price increased after the dealer quoted, so go it at the old price, even though it cost the dealer more. I picked it up 10 days ago. It may have been UK stock?

Limiting the fit to a 17" wheel and you may as well just buy a set of CSi brakes.

Are these a straight swap for the standard E31 840 brakes? Discs & Calipers?:hmmmm:

    Not that way.
You also need to replace the wheel hub with the CSi one.

Is this true for CSi brake swap on an 850iA as well? 1993, M70.

  • Yes. (ECE) CSi hub has specific pattern to match the rotors.

PS: picture of M5 E34 (S50B38) big brake front wheel hub (identical to CSi) indicating the "guide pins" not present in other hubs. Counterpart in CSi rotors. Of course one could think about going without those but it´s not only your life at stake...

and the corresponding pattern in a (3rd party) M5 E34/850CSi brake rotor

  • Ah, thanks. You don't happen to know where i can find 3rd party rotors of such sort? I've been trying to reach StopTech for a set but it's hard to find here.

  • The Front Hubs, Discs and Calipers for the CSI are the same as the E34 M5 3.8 1994. Same part numbers.

The rear calipers & discs for the CSI are NOT the same as the E34 M5 3.8 1994.

  • Sorry to open this up again, but apparently the front brake pads differ in EU and US 850 CSi cars? I'm looking for cermic pads to fit EU CSi calipers. Does anyone have any ideas where i can look?
