Brakes all finished now. 14" diameter, 1 1/4" thick fully floating, Titanium mounted, drilled, vented and grooved discs all round with 4 pot calipers on the rear and 6 pots on the front.
It should stop now, I just need to get my R's in gear and get it going!
I just keep getting sidetracked by everyone else's E31.

PS, sorry 'bout pic distortion, I was about 6" away, sitting on a cold, wet floor with a very wide angle lens.
New stoppers.

E31s and especially CSi are not made to be stopped but to be driven
Did you really see a necessity for this brake upgrade or is it more one of those "yes, we can" things?
I so far never felt the need for a better brake system and I am driving hard sometimes (preferably on windy Norwegian roads). -

Think when Gerry will be running those 600 hp he will need it. -

I am a strong believer that the stock CSi brakes are sufficient and have posted as such many times.
I was however continually asked to do a big brake kit which could also be retrofitted to any E31 which I eventually succumbed to. However, despite the cost of the 4 wheel brake kit being the same cost as the Brembo front only kit, there were no takers so my car got the only kit I made.
It would have been more profitable and a lot less time printing Brembo stickers to fit to original calipers, and, in fact I did for the refurbished 840 calipers and have now sold about 50 sets of stickers!!!.

Why does this sound so familiar to me?
I was also asked various times to do a brake kit and whenever I came up with a quote people disappeared. So now you support badge tuning on E31s? I hope it'll some day pay for your investment on the brake kit.

Please pardon my possible ignorance here, but when I had my stock front calipers reconditioned I was told they were definitely Brembo units.
Does this mean that the Brembo front kit mentioned is a bigger kit, or did some E31s not have Brembo calipers? -
If I remember correctly the kit Gerry offered would only fit onto cars with 18" wheels or bigger, if it had been for 17's and above there would probably have been more of a takeup.

If you are in any doubt, you will undoubtably find out when the inner pistons seize due to the atrocious design of the dust covers.
The Brembo "brake kit" mentioned here are bigger and better than the standard brakes Brembo supplied to BMW for OEM fit on the E31 and which are more suited as the common upgrade for the E36 3-Series.

Explains it all - including why I had to get mine rebuilt. Thanks.
Work fine now though -

Crikey Gerry - asking me to remember anything these days is a tall order
When one is nearer to 60 than 50, two things definitely begin to happen - memory loss and getting up during the night -

I wish I'd known about that before buying new calipers for the 840ci. ... at £400 each
Still, with completely new calipers, discs, pads, hoses and refurbished ABS, it does stop much better than before.
So what's a good upgrade for a CSi? -
