M Wing and other options in the US

Thre were not very many options on the 8 in the US

Each of the three engines have their own model number 850/840/850CSI

The wing is listed in the ETK parts list but I believe it is no longer stocked.

I think there were a couple of different wheel/tire combinations.

Most of the different looks came from the Tuners

There is a lot of information here on this site (down the page) on Stock and tuner versions

The M-Wing is/was available from the factory with or without a stop light.

I have read somewhere (probably on this board) that BMW strongly recommends installing the M-Wing only with the front CSI spoiler.

There is/was an installation kit covering all the required parts to install both the wing and front spoiler available from BMW.

I say "is/was" as I'm also unsure if it is still available from the factory.

You should check http://www.bmwe31.com and check under Modifications, then look on the left hand column where it says "CSI Body Upgrade." There is more information available there.

Why do BMW recomend installing the rear m-tech spoiler with the front CSI spoiler?

I would have thought because of drag and lift airlow created at different speed levels causing instalbility.

850 looks better without the wing anyway, but thats just me....
