Whats it worth?

  • in short..... probably not as much as you'd want for it !

Pristine showroom condition and you may get lucky and close to £14K.... average condition with a list of stuff needing doing to it and it'll be closer to £10K. Plus the colour combo of exterior/interior will make or break the sale.

I wish sometimes I was buying now, knowing what I have learnt over the last three years. It's a buyers market today will fuel prices being wht they are I'm afraid.

Tony I think we all would agree with this, but think of the fun you have had in the learning experience (not the money you have spent  )

:driving2:Its been a year since I sold her and I still miss her.......

Send a PM to Derin. I know he's been offered mid 20's for his but it is totally immaculate!

Hmmm, There is a 96 model Csi on Piston heads for £25k  But then again ,only 1 owner & 23k miles 8)

Those who risk nothing, achieve nothing, become nothing.

  • There are quite a few on PistonHeads, (by the description) some fairly similar for quite a difference in price. Last year a local BMW dealer sold an 840 with 18,000 miles for £25k and it went in about 1 week. Also some time ago, another with only 4k miles, was listed at £30k by a specialist dealer.

Personally, I think the one with 35kmiles for £24k is too much, seeing that a CSi is also listed with 24kmiles at £25k

Agreed as far as the more common (relatively speaking) and higher mileage examples go. But for immaculate, low-mileage, rare models such as the CSi and B12, I don't think fuel price is much of an issue. The market for these cars isn't someone who's going to do 20k miles per year in it, so the fuel cost is a small proportion of overall ownership cost.

Of course the above described cars are a small proportion of the overall market. For the rest of us, £1.20/litre hurts the wallet both at refuelling, but also come resale :x

  • Got more details, its a 1999 840CI sport with 31,000miles. Its on orient blue with grey leather.

Its the standard Sport spec including headlight washers and original car phone.

Its not as imaculate as Derin's but still in excellent condition, i would say 7.5/10.

Couple of light scratches on exterior but the interior is imaculate.

    Any new estimations?
