    To our knowledge, no 840's.


    Most of these 8's were kept in Brunei, while a few remained in the UK.


    Yes, the Brunei B12 5.7 Nbr 10 Alpina that was at Maxted (seemed like forever) was sold in 2007. Both B12 5.7's the Sultan had were based on the M70 RHD 850Ci 6spd manuals.


    Use the search function on this site to read all about that revelation from a few years ago when the Inventory Project was in its formidable stages.


    Who knows why there were so few CSi's? Your guess is as good as mine.

    The registration of the black Brunei KS8 is "BB6". As you can see it is not in the list above, hence an assignment based on this is impossible. My impression is that it might have belonged to the Sultan´s collection judging from the plate itself.



    It should be noted that the "original" list was updated to include the two B12 5.7s that are known to never have made it to Brunei but were in storage in Singapore before being brought back to the UK through Sytner.


    The listing itself only shows cars (not exclusively BMW) that were built until 1992/3-ish which may mean that the age of the list excludes the later E31s namely M60/62 and probably a good many CSis. I am not aware that a more current list exists but stories of the turmoil this "collector´s" madness brought over the Sultan´s household are legend.

    They are left to rust away in the jungle - not quite - but basically being sold in public auctions and from hearsay in a state reflected by the rust spots on the tarmac.
    Mind you - Brunei is not in the Gulf region but in Indonesia (often confused).
