Just thought I'd mention that myself and the rest of the BMW Car magazine crew will be at Gaydon this coming weekend, as will my 840Ci, which will be one of the cars on our stand (assuming I get it fixed in time, that is). I insist that you pop over and say hello, it'll be really nice to meet whoever's coming and have a chat
Gaydon!

First post on here guys and just wanted to say how good it was to see a great collection (dont think ive seen one on the road for months) of E31's today at Gaydon. I'm from Leamington and just went down at the last minute as I'm looking at getting a 840ci Sport within the next few months.
Was great today to get to talk to some owners and I got some really useful info from wayneblackwell1000 and spent half hour nawing his ear re: my future purchase...thanks Wayne it was really good talking to someone who knows what they're on about.
Hopefully I'll become more active as the weeks go on but rest assured I know how to use the SEARCH function !

It was a good day, even if it was a shame about the weather. It was nice to meet you Wayne, and it was good to see some lovely Eights out and about. This was my fourth time at Gaydon but only my first whilst owning a BMW and I must say that it made a big difference and I really enjoyed myself this year, more so than ever before.

Just posted my pics from the show on Google web albums http://picasaweb.google.com/wo…leangus/GaydonBMWShow2008
You may recognise your cars. I took some of the "bling" shots for my son (25yrs) who couldn't join me at the show - the boot-fitted ICE systems are not really my scene but the "kids" love it! Its great to see all ages enthusiastiuc about the brand.
Did you see that Fraser Nash - what a beautiful car and superb condition! I was also tempted to buy the Z1 on sale at the show, but the wife made me see "sense"!
Pity that BMW doesn't actively support these events - They should positively recognise the enthusiasts who support their brand and demonstrate the great design and durability of the products. They miss a great marketing opportunity - but I guess they are more interested in selling new cars!
Any of you going to Tatton Park later in the year?
Angus. -
I've been reading on Piston Heads that most people attending thought the show was 'pants';-)
Any thoughts on the contary ?
-
I could be talked in to going to Tatten Park, anyone else thinking from the south thinking of going?
On yesterdays event side of things, numbers were down compared to last year, I'm sure the weather put most people off, I would say it had the same amount of traders with the same shocking choice of food but with a good turn out of 8's with friendly owners I left happy. -
Tatton Park ?? That's near me !
just looked here http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/rm/events_main.asp and I assume it's the 7th Sept event you are talking about ? Think I would be up for that, assuming a few others are. Take it I'd have to join the 'Club' to attend though ??
Was my son's Christening yesterday otherwise I'd probably have made the trek to Gaydon. Obviously I was in no fit state to drive anywhere by 3pm yesterday
