Inspired by others here, I opted for Rondell R58's with Gerry's spacers at the front and his Bilstein/Eibach lowering kit. The louvres are Engl's. Total repaint. Very happy.
new wheels, louvres and paint

Looks fantastic - superb paint job!
-
That just looks stunning - and the Rondell 58's suit the rest of the mods perfectly.
-
Looks great! All these Alpina-look hoods are making me jealous.
Can I ask, did you strip the car right down for the respray?
-
Hence the Ventureshield question. Are you going down that route?
-
Thanks gents!

Not stripped to the metal, but the bumpers, spoilers, sills and front screen came off.

I'm going to get the front bumper done, and the sills. Thought I might do that here and see if they can dye the interior into a two-tone, as well.

Looks great good job there.
No it's time to enjoy

Oh & welcome to the vented bonnet club

Just out of interest, why did you need to remove the front screen but not the back? (sorry for trifling questions..)
Also, how / who inserted the louvres .. was there lots of fiddly work involved with that too?

There was some corrosion on the leading edge of the roof; the bodyshop guy said he was ok with the rear window in place -probably didn't fancy taking it out much.
The louvres were put in by the same guy - he said they were easy to place in the bonnet, but a *nightmare* to finish; they're pretty rough when they arrive from Engl, although his welding is good.

The car looks incredible mate, thanks for replies.
-
That just looks perfect, nice one!

Very nice

Looks good mate.
Hood is on my to-do list, has been for years, but other things have been given priority.... ah well, maybe 2014..... -
This is probably the first silver car ever, that fascinates me. Gorgous finish and also the pics are great!
Congrats!!!
Are you sure about the two-tone interior? In my opinion one-tone with a contrast colored welt looks signifikant better. Just my two cents...

Big thanks for all the kind words!

That's what I ment, as you can see on the picture of my seats below. -
Looks excellent. Congratulations.
Personally, a silver car with a two tone interior poses me no problems (which is why I bought one ).
I guess the louvres are in the correct place as defined by Alpina, but has anyone considered putting them slightly further back? -
Hi Jaap,
