Hi all, I need some advice on tyres for the alpina's that I've just got. (I've decided to stick with the OEM colour)
They are 18" and 9.75" wide, can anyone give me some advice on whats the best / biggest size of tyre's I can get fitted.
Cheers.

Thank the Lord you've come to your senses & are keeping them Silver
I would have thought 285or 275 /40 rears & 245/40 fronts
Hi Wayne
Did you get my message?
Fronts are 240 -40 zr 18
Steve, I did a test on a spare alloy with gun metal, it did look really nice but like people said it looked lost on my car so OEM it is
Steve, yeah cheers I got your email, just wanted to see if there was any wider options
So that's 285/40 rear and 245/40 front.
What's peoples opinions on Falken tyres I've seen a lot of them lately, I currently have eagles fitted and they are good but not 100% on grip in the wet or is that me with my heavy right foot with the M5 diff
Cheers.
Falkens= great tyre for not a lot of Money,I've got them on all my cars much to the derision of other car forum users I call those people W*****s because they have more money than sense & are unwilling to try something new & probably lead very dull lives
Cheers Steve, been looking for Falken tyres and they only seem to make 285 in 35 and not 40 is that extra 5 gonna make a big difference on the ride?
Wayne - it might be worth running those tyre sizes through my tyre calculator:
http://www.ukzero.co.uk/calculator1.htm
I run 285/35 and 245/40 on 18" rims - these are almost a perfect match and the factory option sizes on the Csi.
Thanks will do
I had a blow out on the M5 at 100 mph (sorry 70mph officer) and need to replace the rear offside - had quotes for 275x30x19, cheap and plentiful enough, but to I want to upgrade to 285 on the rears (tyre seems stretched over the rim for 275 and the offset will only cope with a couple of millimeters before rubbing time)
seems theres only one supplier in the country at the moment 'Bridgestone potenza' who can supply in days rather than months for 285x30x19
......bugger, when you need tires you NEED tires.

Wayne following Steves advise I put Falken 452 on mine recently via
http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html
The fronts 245 cost £70 each delivered and then only £10 fitted and balanced a bargain
Right then,,,
Just bought 2xrears 285/35r18 Dunlop Sport Maxx £110 each +Vat (could not go to PZero @ £180 each. To much to do...)
Fronts are 245/40r18
Hope this helps
Wayne
On my Alipnas they are 35 on the rears and 40 on the fronts
285 rears 235 on the fronts
Cheers
Confusing myself now. Just been out to gaze at my beast...then had a look at the car!
240 / 40 ZR18 fronts
and 285 / 35 ZR 18 rears
Cheers Guys, I've been doing some searching and the cheapest I've found for 2 x 285/35 is from falkentyres, £263 inc delivery, as for the fronts 245/40 is from mytyres at £206 inc delivery, so for a grand total of £470 a bit of a bargain I'm thinking
Savings?
Wayne,
Try this for rears: 2 X £122.10 (speed rating is “Y”)
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s334p0
And this for fronts: 2 X £100.10 (speed rating is “Y”)
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s323p0
Should save you about £25 overall, not much but something
ATB,
David
Forgot to say...I've used these guys and delivery was just a couple of days!
Cheers David.
I am happy to be corrected here, since this info was only 'told' to me by the tyre fitter last year "(it was his company though in his defence)...
"Falken tyres are made by Dunlop, in a Dunlop factory, and only branded as Falken to keep the Dunlop brand image further up the 'snob factor' scale. A decent tyre for reasonable money"
By all accounts, stepping up to 19" wheels will hit you HARD in the pocket. Just replaced all for tyres 8 weeks ago, 2 x 245/35/19 & 2 x 275/30/19 Conti Sport IIs @ 800 squid fitted ouch
Just a quick thanks to everyone for their help and I had them fitted today
I will take some better pics when / if the weather decides to brighten up, but here's just a pic taken with my mobile earlier.
Yep, tyres look good Wayne!!
Gotta lose the number plate tho.
It already looks a different car good choice Wayne
