I know I'm biased because I designed it and made it, but I can't help feeling a little smug
The following pictures are just snaps on the drive, but give you an idea.
IMHO the pictures just don't do it justice.
From most angles you can see how it picks up and follows the car's lines.
It is also low enough not to obscure the high level brake light.
Finished - unique spoiler.

Excellent work, I love it, it looks really good. I especially like the way the spoiler follows the curvature of the boot lid as shown in the last picture. So, will you be going into series production?
-
Well done mate I am glad you followed it until the end. I hope to finalise my front grill design in the next few weeks too.
-
Fantastic piece of work I'd say.
-
Well done! That is absolutely spot-on, perfect.
-
Looks superb. Have never been an admirer of spoilers on the 8 but that suits it perfectly
-
Agreed. I do want!

Bravo
Certainly come out well, full credit to you fella

Thanks for the encouraging comments
When I get a chance I'll post some more and better pictures.
If I were to produce more of these spoilers I'd need to remove the original and hand it over to a mould specialist. This would mean finding the right company, investing in the production of a run of spoilers, producing fixing templates (fixing is far more secure than the OEM spoiler), the risk of remedial work being needed on the original, etc, etc.
The market for the spoilers would be very limited and with a small production run the cost per spoiler quite high, so to be honest, I can't see me rushing out to do this any time soon
Sort of related - what is a fair price for the OEM spoiler with brake light (bought new in 2005)? I've had an enquiry to buy mine now that it's been removed from the car and can't find any for sale to compare. Thanks. -
Allegedly the same part number as found on a few E36 derivatives, so may find a few more of those about.

Wandering off topic slightly, but there appears to be a lot of discussion about the common fitting of the E31 and E36 spoilers.
My genuine E31 spoiler has the following numbers on it:
E31 2 260 455
2 255 012
51 71-2 260 454
Now, I don't know which number means what, but I'm sure someone out here will.
