Hi everyone i would just like to introduce myself to the club. I'm a 46 year old married ( 1 child ) toolmaking engineer from Aylesbury Bucks. I've always loved cars and had an Alfa at the age of 19, so according to JC i've been a proper petrol head for a while. I have recently bought an 8 so thus the reason to join (this the best 8 series club and forum).I have owed only 1 other BMW an E30 convertible 1990 which now resides in Ireland. We are hoping to get to the BMW meeting at Gaydor in August so hope to meet some of you there. My 840ci isn't prefect but with enough money, time and advice from the many expert on this forum i hope to sort it!!

Welcome to the madness
And you are right, this is the best e31 club/site on the web.
An e31 is a constant work in progress, but with the help of the people in here it should be an affordable, and hopefully joyful feat. -
Thanks Egil, your english is perfect.

Thanks Egil, your english is perfect.
Then you should hear me speak...... it's even better than my written English.... And it's the Queens English, not American

Welcome Phil,
Your car looks very nice and the colour is just perfect
Did you get the parking sensors removed?
Cheers

Welkome and as you say this is the best forum for sure
Great to see more UK members joining and hope to see some of you attending international meetings in the future.
Just came back myself today after 4500km attending the Swedish meeting and joining the Alpina/ 8er tour and 17 days of driving
Pure fun all
Regards

Welcome, that looks like a good example you have there
Huldra, I did contemplate the Swiss meeting (not enough time to plan properly), but the journey seemed a little involved, but not impossible. Even the wife was looking interestedMick

Welcome!
Blimey Mick....Got a good one there!

Hi all. Booked the 840 in today for the boot lid and rear bumper respray,as the reversing sensors are being changed for modern style ones that are flush ( the black ones are about 2cm proud,so 90's). I have also removed a rear spoiler and have the holes and subsiquent rubbing to tidy up. I now have a spoiler spare in BMW paint code 314 (bright red).
Hoping to get to Gaynor in August anybody already booked? -
Long day . I was supposed to write GAYDON 19th August.
Bare with me! -

GAYDON 19th August.
Bare with me!
Nope sorry - won't be taking my kit off with you
Given the recent cold weather I'm not going "bare" anywhere - let alone at a large meet -
Hi there,
Great car.
I spend my weekend in Aylesbury (sometimes), so you may see me around (orient blue 8), although my car is usually kept in Middlesex.
Welcome to the forum, best 8 resource on the web by miles.
There is a Silver 840 usually at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and also an Estoril Blue in Aylesbury, PM me and we could perhaps meet up. -
welcome

Welcome aboard - if you have an E31 you have to be a member of this site - its the best! Informative, friendly and humorous - looking forward to your contributions - and your journey of discovery and enhancement of all that is the 8 series.
-
Stunning looking car welcome man!
-
I have to say that red is one of the colours that definitely works on these cars.
Apart from those of us with a questionable sense of humour, you will find some real experts to advise you on how to get your new acquisition into A1 shape.
Welcome indeed. -
Welcome to 8 land! Pretty car!
-
Lovely car, really like the colour. Welcome, you will find this site by far the most useful tool in the box.
-
Howdoo!
Great start Phil, even your wheels are on the correct way.
